1. Summary
VorteX is a 3D rocket-engine simulation for iPhone and iPad, made for entertainment for space and rocket enthusiasts. We do not collect, store or share personal information. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs, and it makes no network connections of its own (the App Store purchase and restore go through Apple's StoreKit). Everything runs on your device.
2. What the app does on your device
- Camera (AR, optional, VorteX Pro). If you open the life-size AR view, iOS asks for camera access. The camera image is processed on your device by Apple's AR Quick Look to place the engine in your room. We never record, save or receive it. You can turn camera access off at any time in iOS Settings > VorteX.
- Temporary 3D model file. To open AR, the app writes a 3D model of the engine to your device's temporary storage. It contains no information about you.
- Purchase status. The app checks with Apple's StoreKit, on your device, whether you own VorteX Pro.
- Haptics and keeping the screen awake while the engine runs use no personal information.
3. Purchases
In-app purchases are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Apple's handling of this information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). We receive only aggregated, non-identifying sales and usage reports from App Store Connect.
4. Apple's analytics and crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us aggregated usage and crash information through App Store Connect. Apple controls this, it doesn't identify you to us, and you can turn it off at any time.
5. Children
VorteX is rated 4+ on the App Store. That is a content rating, meaning the app contains no objectionable material; it does not mean the app is directed at children, and it is not. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Sharing and overseas disclosure
We do not sell, rent, share or disclose personal information, because we do not hold any. We do not send personal information from the app overseas. If you email us, your message is stored by our email provider, Apple (iCloud Mail), which may store it outside New Zealand; see our website Privacy Policy (https://www.prettymuchworks.com/privacy/).
7. Security and retention
We hold no personal information from the app, so there is nothing from the app to retain or secure on our side. Data kept on your device stays under your control and is removed when you delete the app. We keep support emails only for as long as we need them to respond to you and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete them.
8. Your rights
New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020)
You have the right to ask us for access to, and correction of, personal information about you (Information Privacy Principles 6 and 7). As we hold none, we will normally confirm that. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (www.privacy.org.nz).
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
We do not process personal data about you as a controller through the app. On-device processing (such as the AR camera feed) happens locally and is not accessed by us. You still have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). We don't receive or hold personal data from the app, so we haven't appointed a representative in the EU or UK. If you are in the EU or UK, contact us directly at support@prettymuchworks.com.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
In the last 12 months we have not collected, sold or shared (for cross-context behavioural advertising) any category of personal information about California residents. You have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale/sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights.
9. Changes
If VorteX ever starts collecting information, we will update this policy, and the App Store privacy label, before that version is released, and change the effective date above.
