PrettyMuch Works is an app studio based in Auckland, New Zealand. We design and build apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

We named the studio for the standard we hold ourselves to: an app has to work. We make apps that educate, entertain and support wellbeing, apps that leave the world a little better. Startlet helps busy, scattered brains take the first small step, and VorteX sparks curiosity about how rockets fly. Nothing ships perfect, so we keep improving what we ship.

Privacy Policy

Parn Jones, trading as PrettyMuch Works ("PrettyMuch Works", "we"), Auckland, New Zealand, runs this website at www.prettymuchworks.com. This policy explains what personal information the site collects and how we handle it. Our apps have their own policies: see the Startlet Privacy Policy and the VorteX Privacy Policy.

What we collect

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Who processes it

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. on its global network, so requests may be handled at a data centre near you and in the United States. Our email is provided by Apple (iCloud Mail), so messages you send us are stored by Apple, which may store them in the United States or other countries where Apple operates. Both act on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacy/ and https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). We don't use any other providers for this website.

How long we keep it

We keep support emails only for as long as we need them to respond to you and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete them. We don't keep website logs ourselves; Cloudflare keeps them for a limited time under its own policies.

Your rights (New Zealand)

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to correct it. Contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

EU and UK visitors

If you are in the EU or UK, we rely on our legitimate interests to answer your messages and to keep the website secure. You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, port or object to the use of your data, and complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

California residents

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can ask to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We will post any changes here and update the date above.

Our apps

Startlet is a planning tool, not a medical product, and it gives no medical advice. VorteX is an entertainment simulation for space and rocket enthusiasts. Its engine figures are illustrative, not engineering data. Each app has its own privacy policy, and VorteX also has its own disclaimers:

Apps downloaded from the App Store are licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), and App Store purchases are also covered by Apple's terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information on this website.

Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, it is limited to the extent the law allows.

Intellectual property

The site content, including text, images, logos, app screenshots and the names "PrettyMuch Works", "Startlet" and "VorteX", belongs to us or our licensors. Do not copy, modify or use it commercially without our written permission, other than for personal viewing or fair sharing with attribution. Third-party names and marks belong to their owners.

Links

This site may link to other websites, such as the App Store. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
