Entertainment simulation only
VorteX is an entertainment app for space and rocket enthusiasts. It shows a simplified, generic full-flow staged-combustion methalox engine. The 3D model, animations, sounds and figures (thrust, specific impulse, pressures, temperatures, mixture ratios and other readings) come from a simplified physics model. They are illustrative, not engineering data, and must not be used to design, build, test, operate or assess any real engine, propulsion system or hardware.
No real-world rocketry guidance
Nothing in VorteX is instruction or encouragement to handle propellants, cryogenic fluids, pressurised systems or explosives. These are dangerous and may be regulated by law. Do not attempt to recreate anything shown in the app.
No affiliation
VorteX depicts generic designs. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or based on the proprietary designs of any rocket company, space agency or engine manufacturer. Any resemblance to real hardware reflects shared engineering principles only.
Augmented reality safety
When using AR, stay aware of your surroundings, keep clear of hazards, and supervise anyone younger using the app. Do not use AR while walking near traffic, stairs or water.
Haptics, sound and flashing effects
The app uses engine sound, vibration and bright, flickering flame effects. Lower the volume if needed. If you are sensitive to flashing light, use caution. If Reduce Motion is turned on in your device's Accessibility settings, VorteX turns off camera shake and shortens camera transitions.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, VorteX is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Parn Jones, trading as PrettyMuch Works, is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on figures or content in the app. Subject to the Consumer law section below, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app and in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim.
Consumer law
Nothing in these disclaimers limits rights you have that cannot be excluded by law, including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, the Australian Consumer Law, or the consumer laws of the UK, EU or other countries.
Purchases and refunds
In-app purchases are sold by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
